
Following the success of its first Sustainable Development Essay Competition for 2007/8, which attracted entries from 14 European member states, Vinyl 2010 is pleased to announce the launch of a second Essay Competition for 2008/9 for 18 to 30 year-olds throughout Europe. And, this year, also from the rest of the world.

"Faced with a food and energy crisis, how can society improve its well-being?"
For this follow-up competition Vinyl 2010 is inviting young people to express their views on the key sustainability challenge facing our planet: In the face of a food and energy crisis we are facing, how can society improve the living standards of the worlds growing population in a sustainable way?
INCREASED PRIZE FUND
There are a range of prizes in this year's competition with the opportunity to win up to a total of €5,000. In addition entrants will have a number of opportunities to see their work published and have the chance to attend a prestigious international event on sustainable development.
HOW TO ENTER
Participants must simply Pre-register on or before 1 December 2008 and submit a 1,000 word essay (in English) by the 31 January 2009 deadline.
