Why do you want to shift to a lower carbon lifestyle?
I believe that it is important to lower the carbon footprint of the modern world and currently educate on environmental and sustainable issues. I feel that it is important to set an example in this area if you are preaching in it too.
Which country are you based in now?
Belgium
Are you part of a network/ group of young leaders for change?
I am currently part of the United Nations University researching Regional Centres of Expertise on Education for Sustainable Development.
Are you aged between 18 and 30 years old? No problem if you are not!
I graduated in 2006 with a BSc in Physical Geography from Nottingham University. Since then I have been working on and learning about environmental issues and sustainable development, as well as also teaching about such issues when the opportunities arise. In 2007 I completed a six month European Voluntary Service (EVS) placement with SEEDS Iceland where I led international environmental workcamps throughout Iceland. I returned to Iceland in 2008 to train new EVS volunteers to do the same and also coordinated a sustainability youth exchange. I am currently working as an intern with the United Nations University in Brugge where I am researching Regional Centres of Expertise (RCE) on Education for Sustainable Development with the aim of setting up a Sourthern North Sea (RCE) in the near future.
