LifeShift

Shifting to Low Carbon Lifestyles

Dear All

Its been 8 weeks or so since the Lifeshift event. It would be great to hear how you are all doing? Some of you may have already seen my email up date, here it is for those that haven't seen it.

From next Setember I will be developing a number of Transition Initiatives at the University of Nottingham e.g. Student Food programme, Energy Parties, Gurilla Gardening, Carrot mobbing etc, through a student group called SIFE (Students in Free Enterprise). The food programme has recently taken a large step forward. Ecoworks, the social enterprise organisationon which I sit on the management committee has just been rewarded 5 years funding to set up a city wide food programme, which includes buying surplus food from growers (Students) and distribution the food via a HORSE and CART around the inner areas of the city. The Horse and Cart will also visit schools and provide veggie boxes and fresh apple juice to the children. Sainsburys one of our largest supermarkets is keen to support food growing projects, hopefully if I can attract enough publicity I may be able to get Jamie Oliver, a well known British Chief to visit the University.

I look forward to hearing from you all soon

I mentioned above about the student food programme I'm hoping to develop, well I found out today I was in the local paper. Please take a look at the following link.
