Lifeshift: Training Course for Youth Leaders in Sustainable Lifestyles

The aim of the training course is to train youth leaders/trainers to plan, organise and run workshops and practical lifestyle activities at youth events (such as international workcamps, music/culture festivals, summer camps and fairs) that build on youth attitudes and action as sustainable consumers/citizens in response to climate change in their respective European countries. These workshops and activities will aim to positively engage, inform and enable behavioural and attitudinal shifts in young people which will develop further youth action towards sustainable lifestyles and consumption, incorporating citizenship, media, consumer and development education/training in a european context. This will link closely to the objectives of the UN Decade of Education for Sustainable Development.
The project will train and equip youth leaders from 6 different European countries with the necessary tools and skills, using peer education by coordinators from European partner organisations from within these countries and using Youthpass/ Council of Europe Portfolio as an accreditation mechanism.
This training course is at a UK centre that practices and promotes sustainable living and lifestyles www.earthworks-trust.com.
